Govt reheating Labor's idea: Bowen

Shadow treasurer Chris Bowen has accused the government of rehashing a Labor plan to get the elderly to downsize their homes.

"We see Treasurer (Scott) Morrison reheating old ideas and leaking that he may reignite measures that his own government abolished on his watch," Mr Bowen told reporters in Melbourne.

Labor brought in incentives for the elderly to downsize their homes but the coalition scrapped them on coming to power.
