Govt orders services sector review

The Productivity Commission will review the services sector with the aim of boosting exports.

Announcing the review, Treasurer Joe Hockey and Trade Minister Andrew Robb said services account for about 70 per cent of the Australian economy but represent just 20 per cent of exports.

They say with over 1.5 billion people moving into Asia's middle class over the next 15 years Australia needs to ensure it is in the best position to take advantage of these opportunities.
