Government gives SBS $8.8m more

SBS has been given a one-off extra $8.8 million in this year's federal budget.
The additional funding in 2017/18 is to cover revenue that would have been raised by legislation to ease advertising restrictions on the public broadcaster.
The government in March reintroduced the measure to parliament after it was voted down by the Senate in June 2015.
