Gold Coast traffic: Lengthy delays on M1 after pedestrian death

Northbound lanes of the Pacific Motorway have reopened at Reedy Creek on the Gold Coast after a pedestrian died in a traffic incident.

Traffic is backed up south to Currumbin, after authorities diverted traffic onto the Gold Coast Highway and Bermuda Street for several hours this morning.

Southbound traffic has also been affected with traffic slow as far north as Coomera.

Commuters are warned to expect significant delays.

The pedestrian is believed to have been hit by a truck.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
