Boy, 13, cautioned over hoax which locked down Gold Coast school

A 13-year-old boy has been cautioned over a hoax which forced a Gold Coast school into lockdown this morning.
A cleaner at Palm Beach Currumbin State High School found an envelope containing white powder and a handwritten threat around 6am, and the bomb squad was called in to sweep the school grounds.
The powder was identified as flour by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services around 9.30am, before another threat was issued via Airdrop to iPhone users.
The school was evacuated again before being declared safe by police.
Queensland Police said the boy had been dealt with under the Youth Justice Act in relation to the incident.
Approximately 2500 students attend the school, which is one of the largest on the Gold Coast.
Classes have returned to normal, the school said.
