Snorkeller drowns at popular Gold Coast swimming spot

A woman has died after she was pulled from the ocean at a popular swimming spot on the Gold Coastwhile snorkelling.

Emergency Services were called to Wave Break Island, near Biggera Waters, just after 10am after the woman was pulled from the water unresponsive.

She was declared dead.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.

Her death comes just days after another man drowned at Currumbin Beach on the Gold Coast.

Last December, 33 people lost their lives to drowning as life savers warn it's the most dangerous time to be in the water.
