Woman dies after crashing into power pole

Police have confirmed a woman has died in a horror crash overnight in Adelaide’s south-west.

The 22-year-old woman’s car slammed into a pole and brought down powerlines at a busy intersection at Glengowrie.

The crash occurred at 10pm yesterday and the woman was trapped with serious injuries.

Diagonal Road was closed to all traffic for several hours as emergency crews and power teams worked to clear the mess.

It is not believed any other occupants were in the car.

The woman died at the scene.

The cause of the crash is now being investigated.
