Girl run over by mother dies in Perth

A toddler has died after her 31-year-old mother struck her with a car while reversing out of the family's driveway in Perth's northern suburbs.

The accident occurred on Holley Place in Marangaroo about 10am (WST).

The child, aged two, was taken by ambulance to Joondalup Health Campus, but died as a result of her injuries.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
