Giant brown snake slithers through water at Point Cartwright beach
Swimmers enjoying a dip at a popular Queensland beach yesterday got a surprise when a deadly snake was spotted slithering through the water.
The Eastern Brown was seen swimming and hiding in the rocks at the Point Cartwright dog walking area at the Sunshine Coast.

In a video posted to social media by Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers, owners are seen scrambling to pick up their dogs and retreat to the shore to safety.
"If you see a snake in a public area, especially playgrounds and BBQ areas please give us or council a call to report it," Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers said in a Facebook post.
"How good of a swimmer was this big fella."
The Eastern Brown Down is often referred to as the common Brown Snake which is highly venomous and can be up to two metres long.
The snake was left to move on itself.
