WA man returns to Australia after nine months in Indonesian jail
A young WA man is back on home soil after spending nine months behind bars in Indonesia over a fatal accident he was involved in while on a surfing holiday.
Jake Drage was jailed over a scooter crash that caused the death of a local mother in Java on June 30 last year.
The 24-year-old told 9NEWS the Indonesian justice system was trying on him and his mother and called it a "bit of a roller coaster".
"The Indonesian justice system is never a safe thing and you'll find out more about that later," he said.
Mr Drage said that despite the incident he was keen to return to Indonesia for another holiday in the future.
"(I have) got a few things to tick off the list that I never got to do this time unfortunately," he said.
Mr Drage said he was overwhelmed by all the attention he has received.
