Shotgun-wielding bandits at large after terrorising Melbourne liquor store

Shotgun-wielding bandits are tonight at large after a terrifying hold-up in Geelong, southwest of Melbourne.

Despite the best efforts of the show owners, the masked men stole cash and cigarettes from the Newcombe bottle shop, placing a pink duffle bag on the counter while pointing two shotguns at the shop attendant.

“It felt like terrorism. I don’t understand why two people walk in with a gun. One person could have walked in with a gun, the other put cigarettes away. It’s just brazen,” the shop attendant told 9NEWS.

The attendant’s father is seen fighting back against one of the gunmen after he was cornered.  

“I was scared for my dad because he was fighting with them and they had a gun. He’s crazy.

“I couldn’t take the risk. My dad told me that it looked fake, but I said, ‘have you ever seen a gun before?’ and he said ‘no!’.”

The gunmen fled the store on foot but officers are now forensically testing a glove they left behind.
