‘Game of Thrones’ star Emilia Clarke to feature in ‘Star Wars’ spin-off

Emilia Clarke, best known for her role as Daenarys Targaryen in the hit HBO show Game of Thrones, has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming ‘Star Wars’ Han Solo spin-off film.
The British actress will join Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover, who have been cast as Han and Lando Calrissian in the film.
"Clarke's role will round out a dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures," StarWars.com, the franchise's official website, said in a statement.
The new untitled film, to be directed by The LEGO Movie’s Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, according to reports from EW, will be set before the original 1977 film.
Filming is expected to being in January and the movie is set to be released in May 2018.
