Burnt body found in Sydney park identified as 20-year-old stonemason

The badly burnt body of a man found in Picnic Point on Monday has been identified as that of 20-year-old stonemason Dane McNeill.

Relatives of Mr McNeill, from Narellan, told 9NEWS he is from a "good family" despite recent troubles.

Council workers found his charred remains dumped in a park in Picnic Point early on Monday.

Mr McNeill was reported missing last Friday.

Police have not confirmed the cause of his death, although he had sustained serious burns to most of his body.

Police are trying to piece together Mr McNeill’s last movements and urged anyone with information about his movements in the last week to come forward.
