French tourists charged with animal cruelty after allegedly filming quokka being set on fire

Two French tourists have been charged with animal cruelty after they allegedly tried to burn a quokka on Western Australia's Rottnest Island.
Police said the men ignited an aerosol spray with a lighter and a large flame singed the animal.

Video evidence of the April 3 crime has allegedly been seized.
The men, aged 18 and 24, were evicted from the island and are due to appear in Fremantle Magistrates Court on April 17.
