Closer look at alleged ‘bloody idiot’ Freo train jumper
A new CCTV image has been released of a man who jumped from a train into the Swan River in Perth, only narrowly avoiding electrocution.
Police are continuing their hunt for the man, who climbed up the outside of a train in North Fremantle last Saturday.
As the train crossed a bridge over the Swan, the daredevil leaped into the water.
He barely missed some 250,000-volt wires which could have electrocuted him.
The man has been described as light-skinned, of medium build, aged 25 to 35 and with ginger hair.
At the time of the jump he was shirtless, wearing only dark coloured shorts and sneakers.
West Australian Premier Mark McGowan earlier this week referred to the jumper as "a complete, utter, bloody idiot".
"He endangered his own life (and) he set a very poor example for others," he said.
