Fraser Island bushfire warning downgraded after residents made to evacuate
Residents, campers and holiday-makers had been made to evacuate from the Cathedrals region on Fraser Island on Saturday amid a growing bushfire.
The blaze has been burning for an entire month already, and was allegedly started by an illegal campfire on October 14.
A Leave Now warning was issued by Queensland authorities as conditions worsened in the afternoon but by the evening, it was downgraded to a Watch & Act alert.

The alert was issued for Cathedral Beach Campground and includes the two-way track between Eastern Beach and the main entrance of the Cathedral Beach Campground.
At midday the fire was travelling north of Lake Bowarrady in the vicinity of Awinya Road, south towards Cathedrals on Fraser.
Residents and visitors were asked to leave via Maheno Beach and travel south toward Happy Valley. There is a separate bushfire warning for Happy Valley.

Warning for residents in South Australia
South Australia is also bracing for dangerous bushfire conditions.
Total fire bans have been issues for eight districts across the state with hot and dry weather forecast.
Authorities are most concerned about the mid-north and Flinders with fire ratings there forecast to be extreme, meaning conditions could be unpredictable.
