Fraser govt minister MacKellar dies

Former Fraser government minister Michael MacKellar has died at 76.
Mr MacKellar held the seat of Warringah for 25 years before Prime Minister Tony Abbott became the member in 1994.
He was immigration minister and minister for health in the Fraser government in the 1970s and '80s.

Mr Abbott paid tribute on Saturday to Mr MacKellar, who he credited with natural charm and strong intellect.
"He stood for the humane and the decent," Mr Abbott said in a statement.
"I was aware I had big shoes to fill."
Mr MacKellar leaves behind partner Pamela and children Cameron, Duncan and Maggie.
