Buddy Franklin knocked out cold in NAB Cup

Sydney Swans star Lance Franklin has been taken from the field on a stretcher after suffering a head clash with teammate Gary Rohan during their NAB Cup match against Greater Western Sydney Giants in Canberra.

In what is his side's last NAB Cup match before the AFL season kicks off, Franklin was knocked out cold on Manuka Oval in about the 10th minute on Sunday.

Franklin woke up while being tended to and tried to get up, but doctors insisted on using a stretcher.

Rohan went to the bench unassisted.
