Four refugees flown to Darwin from Nauru

The first batch of refugees in Nauru who have agreed to be resettled in Cambodia have been secretly flown to Darwin.

Two single adult men, from Myanmar (Burma) and Iran, and an Iranian married couple, all aged in their 20s and 30s, have agreed to move to Cambodia under a deal negotiated between Canberra and Phnom Penh.

Darwin Asylum Seeker Support and Advocacy Network spokesman Ben Pynt told AAP the foursome arrived in Darwin on Sunday night on a charter flight from Nauru.

They are being housed at the Darwin Airport Lodge immigration detention centre.

Mr Pynt said it was unclear how long the refugees will be in Darwin.

A spokeswoman for Immigration Minister Peter Dutton said arrangements for the resettlement deal were ongoing and declined to comment further.

Cambodian Ministry of Interior refugee department spokesman Kerm Sarin said he was in the dark about the report.

"We don't have any official information about this," he told the Phnom Penh Post.
