Three charged after alleged abduction, stabbing in Melbourne

Three people, including a 17-year-old boy, have been charged after an alleged abduction and stabbing in Melbourne overnight.

Police were called at about 9.40pm by Uber Carshare reporting a silver Hyundai had been stolen from Mitchell Street in Northcote.

The company provided police with the location of the car and officers followed it at a distance.

An 18-year-old Fitzroy man got out of the car at the intersection of High and Bell Street.

He had suffered facial injuries.

Investigators believe he had been kidnapped and stabbed. He was taken to hospital.

Police kept tracking the Hyundai and deployed tyre deflation devices on Barrow Street in Preston.

The car travelled to Bischoff Street, where it crashed into a parked car.

Four people allegedly fled from the Hyundai but were quickly arrested.

Police claimed a number of weapons were found in the car.

Local resident Anthony said he heard loud noises outside his house.

"We heard a commotion and the next thing I heard lots of screaming," he said.

"There was a policeman in the front yard. There was also a weapon in the garden, a long-bladed knife."

Police believe the incident is targeted and the parties were known to each other.

A 20-year-old man from Northcote, a 17-year-old Ivanhoe boy and an 18-year-old Preston woman were all charged with a number of offences including theft of a motor vehicle.

A 16-year-old Heidelberg Heights girl was released pending further enquiries.
