Foster carer charged with sexually assaulting young girl near Mandurah

A foster carer has been charged with the sexual assault of a six-year-old girl who was in his care at the time.

The 60-year-old Stake Hill man has been charged with sexual penetration of a child under 13 years and indecent dealings of a child under 13 years.

It is alleged the offences occurred between December 2014 and May 2015.

He will appear before the Mandurah Magistrates Court today.

Authorities said the man no longer works as a foster carer.
