Former pro surfer encounters 'man-eater' snake on bike track
An Aussie surfing champ has shared his close encounter with a monster brown snake in New South Wales.
Joel Parkinson took to Instagram to show off the giant snake he ran into while at the Uki Mountain Bike Park in Tweed Valley, just across the border from his home state of Queensland.
Api Robbin, partner of comedian Celeste Barber, was with the former pro surfer when they ran into the "huge" snake.

"Holy shit, look at the size of that thing," Parkinson can be heard saying in the video posted to Instagram.
"That's a man-eater."
"It wanted to have a go at me, I almost ran it over.
"Holy f---, look at it. It looks like a f---ing taipan, I mean cobra."

The video was shared to Parkinson's Instagram story with the caption "had a really close call with this guy today on a ride".
Robbin also posted the video to his Instagram page.
The eight-kilometre track which runs through the northern New South Wales Hills was recently completed by the NSW Tween Shire Council.
Parkinson's professional surfing career spanned 14 years.
