The Melbourne Magistrates Court was told Mitchell had allegedly demanded $300,000 from a man, and then punched him in the face when the man said he couldn't get him the money.

Detective acting sergeant Chris O'Brien also told the court Mitchell produced a gun and pushed it into the man's stomach, and also made a threat towards his child, during a meeting in South Melbourne on Saturday.

Mitchell allegedly said: "I'll shoot you ya c*** if you don't give me the money", Sergeant O'Brien told the court on Wednesday.

And: "Take the kid away or I'll shoot it as well".
