Police find more bones after human remains uncovered in bushland north-east of Brisbane

Forensic police have found more human remains while digging at a site in Teneriffe, north-east of the Brisbane CBD, following the earlier discovery of a human jaw bone and another unidentified bone.

A crime scene was established after the bones were found in bushland by workers at the back of a construction site at Teneriffe Park yesterday.

Preliminary investigations have now uncovered human arm bones, a leg bone, and another bone yet to be identified.

Further scientific testing will be conducted to determine the age of the bones and to identify the other bone.

Initial investigations suggest the bones are historical in nature.

The bones are believed to be at least 30-50 years old.

The crime scene will remain in place tomorrow while officers continue their investigation.

The area of bushland at Teneriffe Park is popular for its walking tracks.
