Foreign affairs minister to visit India

Foreign Affairs Minister Marise Payne is set to visit India to strengthen ties with the nation to help the Indo-Pacific region.

Senator Payne will take part in the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi on Tuesday and Wednesday, meeting with India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, her counterpart Sushma Swaraj and other senior ministers.

India's economy is projected to be the fastest-growing large economy over the next two decades, with trade between Australia and India increasing to $29.1 billion, up 13 per cent, over the past year.
