Fordham quits Today Show

Ben Fordham has quit the Today Show.

The news has been described as leading to "the death of one of Australia's greatest bromances", referring the sports reporter's friendship with co-host Karl Stefanovic.

Fordham, who is also a radio presenter on Sydney talkback station 2GB, cited the heavy workload as a reason for his decision.

"This is now the fourth and final year that I can work both ends of the day," he said.

"(My wife) Jodie has been incredibly understanding with my work arrangement but I need to be realistic about what I can do and how long I can do it."

Reacting to news of his departure the ex-Today Show presenter tweeted "I've broken the news to @karlstefanovic and explained .. "it's not you, it's me..".

The Australian reports that Fordham has been asked to join the Nine Network's weekly current affairs program 60 Minutes.
