Retailers sick of brutal teen fights in Melbourne shopping centres

Ugly clashes between groups of violent teenagers have become all too frequent in Melbourne’s shopping centres, and business owners say they are sick of it.

Shocking footage has emerged of teens brawling at suburban shopping centres, and police are looking to lay charges.

One such incident at a Northland shopping centre in Preston was far from a typical schoolyard scrap.

Footage uploaded to social media shows two teenage boys square up, before the pushing and shoving quickly turns into a series of sickening blows.

Shoppers and staff watch on as the violence escalates.

This particular fight happened at least three months ago, but the evidence has only just been uploaded to Facebook.

Many of the teens apparently involved have even boasted about the violence on social media.

Shopkeepers say they are sick of the teenage violence at Northland, which is an ongoing problem.

Northland centre management released a statement saying they would assist authorities with inquiries and affirming their commitment to the “safety and comfort” of retailers and shoppers.

Another vicious clash also uploaded to social media showed a brawl outside Target in Epping.

It appears to have been an organised fight between students.

Police have said the brawls are now the subject of a criminal investigation, and they are seeking to establish exactly when each incident took place.
