Rare January fog blankets Perth twice in a week

Perth hasn't had fog in January for a decade but now parts of the west coast city have been blanketed in it for the second time in a week.
Bureau of Meteorology duty forecaster Luke Huntington said the fog rolled in from the ocean on a sea breeze about 9am today.
It was caused by cool, moist air being trapped under the hot air mass that swept the city earlier in the weekend.
Mr Huntington said it was pretty unusual to get fog in summer but all the right meteorological factors had come together, apparently for the first time in January in 10 years.
On Thursday, planes were delayed at Perth Airport and drivers urged to exercise caution as people woke to thick fog that had been partially fuelled by bushfires in the city's north.
Mr Huntington said the worst of Sunday's fog had already happened and expected it would retreat back out to sea.
