Mine worker killed after ground collapse at WA iron ore mine
A mine worker has been killed in Western Australia's Pilbara region after the site they were working on collapsed.
Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) advised that a "collapse of ground" occurred at its Solomon Hub site this morning, resulting in one fatality.
The Solomon Hub is an iron ore mine located 60km north of Tom Price and 120km to the west of FMG's Chichester Hub in the Chichester Ranges.

In a statement, FMG said a full investigation into the incident is being conducted and the mining group is working closely with WA Police and the WA Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety.
CEO Elizabeth Gaines said the business was currently focused on supporting its workers.
"This is a very sad day for Fortescue and all our thoughts are with his family as we provide our full support to them at this very difficult time," Ms Gaines said.
"The wellbeing of the entire Fortescue family is our priority with a range of support services available across our sites, including the Fortescue Chaplains and Employee Assistance Program."

Mining operations at Solomon remain temporarily suspended as a full investigation into the worker's death is conducted.
