Teenager charged with attempted murder after AFL Grand Final day incident
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after an incident in Melbourne's CBD on AFL Grand Final day.
It's alleged the boy drove erratically through the CBD before he was tasered by police around 8am on Saturday.
Video shows the green-coloured ute reversing into the intersection of Swanston and Finders Streets before the car brakes and spins.
Police said pedestrians threw bikes underneath the vehicle in a desperate attempt to stop it.
The driver, who was dressed in black body amour and allegedly armed with a knife and baton, then jumped out of the car as police pointed their guns and tried to arrest him.
Onlookers can be heard yelling at police to shoot the man before he was tasered and tackled to the ground.
No one was injured.
Officers say they are treating the incident as mental health related and don't believe there are any terrorist links.
