Five teenagers charged over fatal stabbing during wild brawl in Sydney

Five teenagers have been charged after the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old boy at a party in Sydney earlier this year.

Aidan Smith,16, was killed when knives and weapons were used during a vicious brawl at an 18th birthday party on Victoria Road in Ryde on August 7.

Yesterday, police arrested a 15-year-old boy and two 17-year-old boys. The trio were taken to Hornsby Police Station and charged with affray.

A short time later, a 19-year-old man handed himself into police. He was also charged with affray.

A fifth boy, aged 16, was also arrested today, with the group all waiting to face court.

Shortly after the fatal stabbing, a 20-year-old man was also charged with affray.

Paying tribute to her brother, Aidan's sister, Nova Smith, said her brother was "always happy".

"He was always with his friends, always with his family, just always happy and making others happy," Ms Smith said.
