Five injured in van crash in south-west Sydney

Five people including an 11-year-old boy have been taken to hospital after their van crashed into a power pole in the south-west Sydney suburb of Bankstown last night.

Police were called to the crash on Stacey Street about 11.20pm.

Paramedics treated the van's 50-year-old male driver for a possible fractured leg, and took him to Liverpool Hospital.

The van's four passengers – three women aged 50, 21 and 18, and an 11-year-old boy – were taken to Westmead Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Crash investigators were called to the scene and have launched an investigation.
