First wave of virus welfare support issued

Millions of welfare recipients are beginning to see $750 coronavirus payments lob into their bank accounts.

The stimulus payments are expected to deliver $4.8 billion to Australian households over the next few weeks, with a second round due in July.

More than 6.8 million pensioners, veterans and other Centrelink recipients are eligible for the automatic cash boost.
