The top 10 postcodes in NSW for first home buyers
Suburbs on the Central Coast are slowly inching out greater western Sydney as the top choice for first home buyers in NSW.
New property data from InfoTrack has revealed the most popular postcodes in the state for buyers choosing their first home in the third quarter of 2024.
While western Sydney postcodes still reigned supreme, the coastal suburbs are becoming more popular for cash-strapped buyers than ever as housing prices skyrocket.

10: 2770
Suburbs in the Sydney postcode of 2770, which encompasses Bidwell, Mount Druitt, Shalvey, Whalan and Minchinbury, was the 10th most popular area for first home buyers.
This postcode isn't a new entrant and sales in the western Sydney suburbs remained strong in Q3.
9: 2250
The central coast postcode of 2250 was a new addition to the top 10 list in NSW.
This postcode includes beachside suburbs Erina, Gosford, Matcham and Bucketty.
InfoTrack's Head of Property, Australia, Lee Bailie, said the region has seen a huge boost in popularity.
"The Central Coast is a lifestyle destination, with an array of attractive beaches, surfing hot spots, and national parks, but still offers every amenity for modern living, and is commutable to Sydney," he said.
8: 2259
Another Central Coast region made it onto the list, the postcode of 2259.
It was a new entrant this quarter and includes the suburbs of Gwandalan, Moonee, Tuggerah and Tacoma.
Bailie said the area's "relative affordability" made it an attractive choice for Australians entering the housing market for the first time.
7: 2747
This western Sydney postcode also made it into the mix at number 7.
The postcode 2747 includes Werrington, Jordan Springs and Kingswood.
6: 2150
The postcode 2150 is a smaller one, with just two Sydney suburbs: Harris Park and Parramatta.
The bustling area is a burgeoning market for buyers.
5: 2148
Western Sydney suburbs in the postcode 2148 rounded out the top 5, which includes the popular areas Blacktown and Marayong.
4: 2155
The north-west postcode of 2155 includes Rouse Hill, Kellyille and Beaumont Hills.
A newer area with developments still popping up, this Sydney area is a popular one for families looking for their first home.
3: 2145
Western Sydney is certainly a popular choice for first home buyers, with a total of eight on the list from this area.
The postcode of 2145, which includes the likes of Greystanes, Westmead and Pendle Hill, came in at number 3 for NSW.
2: 2560
Suburbs on the south-west fringe of Sydney in the postcode 2560 were ranked the second most popular for first home buyers in NSW.
These suburbs include Appin, Bradbury, Campbelltown and Macarthur Square.
