Large fire spread to home after engulfing shed at The Gap, in Brisbane's west

A large fire broke out in a shed and spread to a house in The Gap, west of the Brisbane CBD.

The shed and the back of the house were well alight when four fire crews arrived at the Brompton Road property, a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said.

The first Triple Zero call was received about 6.50am (AEST).

All residents have been accounted for, and firefighters have since contained the blaze.

Thick smoke from the fire billowed over the suburb.
