Fire engulfs two-storey home in South Penrith

Fire crews have battled an intense fire at a home in South Penrith, in Sydney's west.

At least eight fire crews were called to control the blaze at the two-storey property on Bickley Road.

Fire crews were called to the home at 1.11pm, and aerial images showed flames and thick smoke billowing from the brick building.

The fire is believed to have engulfed the ground level of the property, before spreading throughout the rest of the building.

Four people were assessed by paramedics, including a man in his 30s who was treated for shock. 

One person was taken to Nepean Hospital with minor burns to their hands, while another was treated for smoke inhalation.
