Attack on bikie boss 'will spark new gang war'

A drive-by shooting attack on the home of a bikie boss has sparked fears of a new gang war in Victoria.

Finks enforcer Brent James Reker was left furious yesterday after his Frankston rental property was shot at multiple times.

The shots were fired through the front of the home, where his 11-day-old baby was asleep at the time.

No one was injured in the attack but there are fears the actions could lead to a new round of gang violence.

A source close to Reker told the Herald Sun he has been “working underground” for the past few years to re-establish the dangerous Finks Motorcycle club in Victoria.

"He's a straight shooter who likes good strong people," the source told the newspaper.

"He hates people being hurt. That’s why he came in to clean up the Finks as he didn’t like what was going on."

The Finks is known to be one of the most violent outlaw motorcycle gangs in Australia.

Before joining the Finks, Reker was the sergeant of arms at the Rock Machine outlaw bikie group in Western Australia.

The Finks gang in Victoria was torn apart in 2015 after police carried out a series of anti-bikie raids but they have slowly rebuilt themselves since.

It's believed the Finks now to have more than 50 members in Victoria, with that number expected to grow.

Reker spent three years in jail in 2012 for attempting to extort $2000 from two teenagers.

A year earlier he was awarded $5000 for costs to cover the case where he was accused of being in a street fight after it was thrown out.

The Hells Angels will reportedly be investigated as the prime suspects in yesterday’s drive-by shooting.

Hells Angels consider Frankston to be there domain, with the gang operating out of Seaford.

The Finks have been a long 'arch-enemy' of Hells Angels, with the two groups having a massive dispute at a 2006 kickboxing event in Queensland where five men were either shot or stabbed.

The Finks also have a patchy history with the Comancheros and the Bandidos in Melbourne.

The Finks have been known not to cooperate with law enforcement at any level.
