Dept Finance under one roof by early 2016

The Department of Finance hopes to be moving into a new home by Christmas so that it can get started on next year's federal budget.
The move will bring under one roof some 1350 of the department's 1400 staff who now are scattered around the national capital in four different buildings and one other facility.
While the aim is to complete the move by early 2016, finance department secretary Jane Halton told a Senate committee on Thursday she hopes all staff are in place before Christmas, in time to begin working on the budget process by mid-January.
