Mourners have heard of the incredible bond between the Queensland mother and daughter who died soon after arriving in Bali for a holiday.

About 300 mourners have gathered in the town of Gatton to say a final farewell to nurse Noelene Bischoff and her daughter Yvana, 14.

The pair became violently ill earlier this month and died not long after checking in at the Padang Bai resort.

The results of autopsies carried out last week are yet to be released.

Noelene, 54, was a nurse at the Sunshine Coast Hospital and her colleague Linda King has spoken of the incredibly close bond her friend shared with her daughter.

She says they were always happy and their sudden deaths have shocked many.

"We should know that bad things happen to good people, but we are surprised," Ms King told mourners.

"If they had a choice they would've gone together. There was always the twosome."

Other speakers remembered the mother and daughter as horse lovers with an appetite for exploring the world together.

The service is continuing.
