Few voters say Abbott should stay

One in three voters say Tony Abbott should stay on in parliament.

The latest Essential poll published on Tuesday found 33 per cent of voters believed the former prime minister should continue as an MP.

A further 47 per cent of voters said he should resign either now or at the next election, while 19 per cent did not express a view.
