Sydney businessman Tan Shukla told 9NEWS he was withdrawing money from a nearby ATM when his uninsured car caught fire.
“I didn’t see what happened, the only thing I saw was it was on fire,” he said.
Mr Shukla claims a passer-by stole his laptop and credit card as the incident unfolded.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
