Battling dairy farmers in NSW can apply for loans as part of the federal government's $500 million dollar assistance package for the industry.

The government announced their dairy support plan in May, immediately making money available for Victoria farmers hit by Murray-Goulburn and Fonterra's decision to drop milk prices.

The 10-year loans, which help cover operational expenses, are now open to farmers in NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland.
