Body of missing diver found off Moreton Island

Police have located the body of a 44-year-old man who went missing during a dive off Moreton Island.

Andrew Thwaites, the director of Fisheries Queensland, disappeared during a chartered dive north of Brisbane when he failed to resurface yesterday.

His body was located by police divers at around 10.30am near Henderson Rock, in the area he was last seen.

An extensive air and sea search had taken place.
