Police are continuing their search for a 23-year-old man last seen camping with friends near Gippsland, Victoria.

Sebastian Orefors left his campmates in Wonyip about 7.30pm on Friday to go on a solo walk on an unnamed track off Randalls Track, police said.

There are concerns for Mr Orefors welfare given the time he has been missing.

Local officers and the SES searched the area yesterday, but were unable to find the Mount Martha local.

Another search is being conducted today.

"If we haven't located him tonight, we'll recommence the search tomorrow," Inspector Scott Brennan told 9NEWS.

Meanwhile, friends and family of the missing camper have taken to social media to express their distress.

"Lost for words right now... my heart is hurting," one posted to Facebook.

Mr Orefors is descried as being 178 centimetres tall with a medium build, and has a fair complexion and nose ring.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
