Father and daughter targeted by gunman outside Sydney school
A man and his teenage daughter were allegedly targets of an attempted underworld shooting during school pickup before the pistol failed to fire.
9News understands a gunman allegedly ran up to the 44-year-old father and his 15-year-old daughter before pointing a handgun at them in Sydney’s west yesterday afternoon.

Investigators believe the gunman, dressed in black and wearing a balaclava, attempted to fire the weapon but it jammed, causing him to flee shortly after.
CCTV shows the moment the father and daughter run up the street away from the alleged gunman.
9News understands the alleged target is a family member of a high-profile organised crime figure, but has no criminal links himself.
Authorities say the alleged gunman who reportedly ran up on the pair remains at large.
Police close to the investigation told 9News that if this is a failed underworld hit, then criminals are now breaking their own rules with children and women once off-limits in underworld wars.
It comes as underworld tensions continue to escalate after two males, including a teenager, were charged after a shooting at a cartel boss’s wake venue in Sydney’s south-west last week.
