Fatal crash on Vic highway

A man has been killed in a two car collision on a Victorian highway near Ballarat.

Emergency services were called to the intersection on Glenelg Highway in Smythesdale on Friday morning to find a man deceased at the scene.

A man in his 20s is being flown to The Alfred hospital with leg injuries but remains in a serious but stable condition, a spokesman from Ambulance Victoria said.

Another man, also in his 20s, suffered minor injuries and was taken by road to hospital in Ballarat.

Police said the major collision unit will investigate.
