Two couples and a six-month-old baby have been found alive and well after spending a night in Victoria’s Grampians National Park when their car became bogged.

A massive search had been launched for the family after their duel-cab ute became bogged at Moora Moora Reservoir last night.

The group were staying with a friend from Hamilton after their day trip to the Grampians and the alarm was raised when they failed to return home last night.

They walked around 10km to the Victoria Valley Airfield and were located at around 11.40am this morning.

Insp. Nick Finnegan from the Victoria Police praised the group for staying by the vehicle, indicating search efforts are made much easier for the chopper and rescue crews.

“It certainly would have been cold out there at night, but they had the foresight to stay in the vehicle,” Insp. Finnegan said.
