Trio's bungled ATM heist caught on camera in Melbourne

Three men have been caught on camera trying and failing to make off with a stolen ATM in a Melbourne car park.

The attempted heist took place at a licensed premises in Craigieburn, on Grand Boulevard at about 7.30am on July 13.

The men were in a silver Toyota Hilux, and one of the men got out and smashed open a window of the business with a chain.

A second man joined him and they wrapped the chain around an ATM, which the ute then pulled outside.

All three men tried to lift the ATM into the Hilux.

They could not, and left the ATM in the car park when they drove away.

Police have released CCTV footage of the event today in the hope of identifying the men involved.
