Facebook crashes on all platforms across Australia

Twitter users went into overdrive after social media giant Facebook crashed on all platforms in Australia this morning.
More than 7000 Facebook users reported receiving an error message when trying to log on using their desktop and mobile devices from about 9am, according to Aussie Outages.
“Sorry, something went wrong and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can,” the message read.
The issue seems to have since been resolved, but what caused the glitch remains unknown.
According to DownDetector.com, the outage also affected users in Asia, New Zealand and some parts of North America.
9NEWS has contacted Facebook for comment and is awaiting a reply.
Many social media users have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration over the outage.
