An investigation is underway into the alleged sexual assault of a child in a park west of Melbourne in 2021.

A 12-year-old girl met up with an unknown man she had met online in the carpark of a general store on Eynesbury Road, Eynesbury, at about 10.30pm in December of that year.

The pair walked to an abandoned building in the historical park, about 20 minutes away from the store.
